Mothers' Day 2003

Tälläkertaa äitienpäivänä oli aikamoisen kaunis ilma. Nyt kevät on ollut melkoisesti myöhässä: ehkä jopa parisen viikkoa.

Tämän aiheuttaa syvälleulottunut routa. Kun eristävää lunta on ollut onnettoman vähän!

This is the Mothers' day, second Sunday in May. And then fathers' day is naturally half an year from this.

The spring was really late this year. For instance, leaves came just this weekend. Very often they come at beginning at May. But not this year. Usually kids give wood anemones (anemone nemerosa). But not this year: there were none!

This is clearly because we had very little snow. Thus it didn't insulate ground: coldness went there. And that's rather bad thing. Quite much plants die. And all small creatures, who have nice warm winter under snow. Now they had quite nasty winter!

Ilmeisesti se on liputuspäivä suunnilleen kaikkialla.

This is official flag-raising day. Everywhere, I think.

Ilmeisesti puihin on tulleet lehdet ihan justiinsa nyt. Elikkä perjantaina oli jonkinlaisia hiirenkorvia. Nyt parin päivän kuluttua lehdet olivat jo aika isoja.

Tuossa näkyy uhkaavan paljon norkkoja. Ja ennustusten mukaan koivun siitepölyä tulee tänävuonna valtaisia määriä.

This is birch. Although the leaves are rather new (only two days old) they grow really rapidly now. Then allergy. That's going to be really bad this spring. The trees are really full of pollen. If one has even a slight pollinosis, this spring is going to be really hard!

Aikamoisen kaunis ilma! Oikeastaan ensimmäistä kertaa tänävuonna.

Quite nice weather, yeah! And for the fist time this year.

Naapurin Marsalla oli myös lapsenlapsi. Tenava on suunnilleen vuoden ikäinen. Mutta nimi? Ei harmainta aavistustakaan. Edes sukupuoli? Ei tietoa siitäkään.

Neighbor there had a grand-son (or maybe -.daughter) I really don't know!

Äiti-Anna sai Paulilta tällaisen sammakkoneulatyynyn. Ihan kivan näköinen!

Pauli gave this frog (actually it is a pincushion) to his mother. Nice, really nice.

Jo oli mukana vaikka mitä leluja. Tuossa kädessä näyttää olevan sekä Paulille että Tuulille annetut lelut, Tuulille Ökö ja Paulille pupu.

Tuuli had really awfully many toys with her. And there are toys I gave her (that looks like Ökö) and Pauli (Bunny rabbit).

Tuuli oli saanut ilmeisesti joskus tämän pehmokissan minulta.

I heard, that I gave that toy-cat to here. Maybe so! Then there are toy-mice. Quite many, actually. My cats have such, too!

Tuuli ja Pauli saivat tällaiset lelut minulta.

Nyt pystyin olemaan ulkona. Siis ilman lämpötila oli ihan siedettävä.

I really hate warm weather! For instance direct sun-light is really quite nasty thing. Because I can't easily move away. But now it was really tolerable warmth for me.

Murkinoinnin jälkeen jälkiruoka oli ulkona.

After eating (broiler) we went out for dessert. And You can see (from Anna) that sun-light is really awfully strong.

Juu. ei Pauli sentää hautonut palloa...

Pauli has football as his hobby. He hasn't laid that huge egg...
