2003Oikeastaan laskiainen tarkoittaa laskeutumista paastoon (joka on 40 päivää ennen pääsiäissuinnuntaita). Mutta se merkitys on jokseenkin täysin muuttunut: nyt se tarkoittaa suunnilleen pulkkamäkeä.
Tuuli yritti kävelyttää Ököä. Ihan hyvä yritys, juu. Mutta ongelma on se, että Ököä ei tosiaankaan kiinnosta kävely.
Our word 'laskiainen' means some kind of descent day. Earlier the idea was quite clear: one descends to the big Lent. But not anymore now. No Lent. And that descent means some kind of sledging down from hills.
But that big carnival-thing is there. For instance huge one in Rio.
Tuuli tried to give some kind of walk
to Ökö. But that would requite some kind of co-operation
from Ökö. But she isn't interested in walking on that
cold and generally disgusting stuff.
Välittömästi
syliini, siinä ei viivytelty tosiaankaan pätkääkään.
Sieltä, turvallisesta paikasta, on hyvä tarkkailla ympäristöä.
Safe place! Finally! Ökö thinks clearly, that "walking" means sitting in lap of Olli. In some kind of safe place.
Then after this exhausting "walk" one has to take
really long nap. But then. "Meow" = I want more
that same stuff. "MEOOW!" = much more.
Lunta oli ihan kohtuullisen mukava määrä.
Tähän läjään on koottu kävelykadulta
kerätyt lumet.
Actually we didn't have exceptionally lot of snow! But when all snow from some area is collected into one pile. Then that becomes rather huge.
And naturally Tuuli isn't very huge...
Mitä
ilmeisimmin ulkoilu on ollut ihan kohtuullisen tehokasta.
Tuuli has rather nice color on her cheeks. So, that has
been (at least) a bit effective.
Sitten
keittoa. Tietenkin hernekeitto olisi perinteikkäämpää,
mutta minä en erikoisemmin tykkää siitä...
Siis hernekeittohan sisältää (aika pikkuisen) sianlihaa.
Ja sitähän ei tietenkään sovi syödä
paaston aikana.
Traditionally we have then pea soup. But I don't personally like that. Pea soup it contains some pork (not very much). So, that isn't suitable to eat during Lent.
But (as I surely explained) we don't care about that.
Ja sitten onkin vuorossa laskiaisen pääasia: laskiaispulla.
These buns are just specially for that day. Bun is nearly just normal one. But it's really huge! But there's some whipped cream inside. Then some "inside of bun" mixed with jam or then almonds mixed with sugar.
Laskiaispullat
ovat lämpimässä maidossa. Olen saanut mussutettua
jo "hatun". Ja sitten sainkin äärettömän
inhottavan lähestulkoon tukehtumiskohtauksen! Ilmeisesti
pääongelmana oli se, etten pureksinut riittävän
perusteellisesti. Siinä Tuuli pelästyi kerrassaan voimallisesti.
I have eaten the "top" of that bun. The whole
thing is placed milk. And then eaten with a spoon. Sounds nearly
like awful mess! Yes, exactly!
Telkkaria
voi sentään katsoa turvallisesti. Nyt taisi olla vuorossa
Mr Bean. Vaikka lukutaito saattaa olla tai sitten ei, ei sillä
erikoisen isoa merkitystä ole.
Tuuli looked Mr Bean. Doesn't require much ability to read
(we have subtitles nearly always here). Because any kind of language
skills. That's very non-verbal humor.
