18.7.2003Nyt oli aivan kamala helle. Kävin tänään Stockalla. Ja se oli ihanan ilmastoitu! Soitin suunnilleen välittömästi invataksien tilauskeskukseen. Tunti lisää! Ja onneksi se onnistui.
I visited the Stockmann department store. That place was air-conditioned! Real heaven.
I called to the cab central to get some more time. And that
was possible: an hour more in that heaven.
Matkalla lemmikkiosastolle
täytyi mennä lastenosaston läpi. Ja natiaisosastolla
oli taas pantu leluja vaikka millä tavalla.
No joo, tietenkin suurin sesonki on pikkuisen ennen joulua...
I needed to go to pet-department. But there were on the way the children-department. All kind of toys.
These seems to be moomin-dolls. Those are so "close"
to us Finns, because the author (Tove Jansson) is a Finn. She
belonged to our Swedish-speaking minority.

Pauli plays this soccer (personally I consider soccer as something really extremely low). Usually just this game is ice-hockey. Ice-hockey is probably biggest sport here. Even bigger than motor sports!

täysjärkinen pitää jotain näinkin kammottavaa
roinaa akvaariossaan? Joku pienoiskokoinen kreikkalainen temppeli.
Kammottavaa! Nuo amforat ovat lähestulkoon järjellisiä,
mutta kyllä ne aika hirvittäviä on!
Päätarkoituksena oli hommata kissoille remmit. No, varsinaiset kissanremmit olivat tietenkin aika heikolla...

Main idea was getting leashes
for my cats. Normally those are for dogs. But those things
work naturally for cats, too.
Nyt mansikoita oli
myynnissä. Tilannehan oli se, että mansikka-aika oli
valtaisasti myöhässä (parisen viikkoa).
Strawberries! We have really lately strawberry-time. Usually
the time begins at near Midsummer. But not this year. Because
beginning of summer was really cold. That caused maybe two weeks
of delay.
Mansikat kypsyvät
täällä erikoisen herkullisiksi! Ilmeisesti täällä
on niin valtaisan pitkä päivä ja siksi mansikoista
tulee kerrassaan maukkaita.
Strawberries here are very special. Full of taste. Because
days of summer are really long (actually we don't have any real
night during Summer). Then all fruits (okay, we don't have many
fruits here; quite plentily berries) get much more taste.
