Trip to city May 12th, 2005

Tällä kertaa olin kaupungissa Hindrekin kanssa. Menomatkan taksi oli oikeastaan bussi. Ilmeisesti firmalla on oltava myös bussi, jolla isompien porukoiden kuljettaminen sujuu.

Muistan vain edellisessä asuinpaikassani muutama vuosi sitten, jolloin bussi nimenomaan tarkoitti sitä! Siis lähes täyskokoinen bussi hakemassa minua...

It was now "bigger" that normal cab. The company has one thing like this (earlier it was a real couch!). And sometimes it just happens.

Mammalle piti varmaankin hommata joitain kukkasia? Mutta tuollaiset ovat ihan liikaa puutarhanhoidollisille kyvyilleni.

Tällä kertaa muoviunikot hoisivat homman!

Maybe I should get some flower to mother? But definitely not ones like this! Because I'm really lousy gardener. And then Ökö has her own ways of that. Combined, the result is really clear: death for any flower.

So I purchased poppies made of plastic and silk...

Hedelmät olivat tässä vaiheessa vuotta lähinnä espanjalaisia mansikoita.

Mutta muutaman viikon kuluttua tulevat täkäläiset mansikat. Useimmat ihmiset pitävät intoiluamme tuollaisesta asiasta kerrassaan typeränä. Mutta intoilu olisi oikeastaan järkevää: pitkä päivä todellakin vaikuttaa mansikkaan erittäin suotuisasti. Aiemmin Etelä-Euroopan mansikoita pidettiin vetisinä. Mutta enää ne eivät ole. Mutta nyt täkäläisten tuotekehitys on tainnut jäädä väliin!

Hey, there were a special fruit booth! And the main thing to sell are strawberries. Today those come from Spain.

But real treat are those from Finland. Because they really love our day-length: at summer we have just no night! That giver really very special, strong, aroma to certain products. And strawberries definitely love our day-length.

Perunatorin yläpäässä oli jonkinlaista ryminää. Menin ihmettelemään sitä ja siellähän olivat Lapinlahden Linnut! Se melskaus tuli ilmeisesti rumpuna käytetystä matka-arkusta.

Ilmeisesti heillä oli meneillään jonkinlaisen videon kuvaus. Tai ainakin valokuvaus. Ja kyllähän minä tietenkin hyödynsin tilannetta.

When I arrived to little square before bookstore, I heard quite huge noise. What? It was this band: Lapinlahden Linnut (actually that name comes from local nut-house, I think it means, they have escapees from there). they were drumming some luggage trunk. That gives really quite impressive noise (You can see it in big picture; it's in middle of group)!

They made some kind of video or something like that. I naturally took nice pictures, too!

CD:llä olevat äänikirjat ovat tosiaankin erittäin suosittuja nyt. Ihmiset ovat ymmärtäneet, että tuollaista CD:tä voi hyödyntää vaikkapa autossa. Siis teoriassa. Levyjem kopiointisuojaus hyvin luultavasti estää kuuntelun!

Nappasin itselleni Taavi Soininvaaran kirjan: "Koston komissio". Ja se oli kopiointisuojatti. Olin ajatellut löhöäväni parvekkeellani ja samalla kuuntelevani sitä ostamallani CD-matkaradiolla. Aikeeksi jäi.

Books on CD are really extremely popular now! I have already some. And I got one new.

Meitä poishakeva taksi oli saanut todellisen haamupaikan. Ihan Aleksanterinkadun päässä.

My cab got really magical place! Because this is in really very center of Helsinki. Finding available (and legal) parking place is nearly impossible.

Makasiinit olivat olleet suunnilleen tässä. Mellakka, tuhopoltto ja lopullinen purku olivat ilmeisesti hoitaneet ne lopultakin pois. Upeaa, lopultakin niistä pääsee eroon.

Here were "makasiinit". Were, because they were burned down. Actually they were waiting for demoling, so that burniungs has really no meaning at all.
