Tallinn

On Wednesday 8th July 1998, I went to Tallinn. That's the capital city of Estonia. I have been there three times before that. But than that city was part of Soviet Union. Here's a link to my next trip there.

The culture of Tallinn is very heavily biased towards Germany. It was part of hansa, very old (a millennium ago) German trade pact. The city is very old. I don't know the exact age, but maybe near thousand years.

We went there in a catamaran-ship of Nordic Jet Line. That's quite fast - about hour and half.

This is the Mustamäki marketplace. Very famous place. Or notorious, if You are some kind of copyright officer.

Estonians have made quite big refinements lately to that place. And why not, because it brings quite much money in!

I wanted to buy some kind of telescope from there. And there were two such merchants.

Then I bought a small flag of Estonia.

Then some copyright infrightment. I looked at his quality. And it looked quite good.

Our cab-driver (Olavi Kreisberg) was extremely proud of his car!

Then to our restaurant. We had chateubriands. Big pieces of meat!

That restaurant-building was very idyllic. But not other buildings... They are doing very big operations to the embassy of Canada. You can see it behind everything.

In the map, there is text "Pilstikeri trepp ja torn". That part "trepp ja torn" is easy to translate. It's "stairs and tower". But that other. Maybe it means archer. And maybe not...

This is building of my grand-grand-(very much grands in this case)-forefathers. It looks quite good from this distance. It looks very bad closer...

This is the place, when one can see the "old city". The plastic bag contains cheese and sausages. Very much!

This is the main place of old city. Quite nice place. But that road isn't very good. I feel very tired!

Then the art shop. I bought two graphics about (naturally) cats. And then I placed them in my cat-wall.

I was there with my father.
