Auntie Kaarina 2006

Kaarina tuli käymään täällä elokuun alussa 2006. Ilmeisesti nyt oli jonkinlainen kurssikokous Lepaalta (siis se kurssi on ollut tosiaan aika kauan aikaa sitten) tai jotain sellaista.

My aunt Kaarina Aas came to our country for few days (she lives in Norway, very near Oslo, place called Ås). She has some kind of course meeting of garden school in Lepaa (that's in Hämeenlinna).

Isäni tuli hakemaan minua Kaarina ja Mamma menivät shoppailemaan Selloon. Sitten kohdattaisiin syömässä siellä.

Matkalla kuitenkin apteekkia. Tai oikeastaan isäni meni sisälle. Ovi oli järjestelty sellaiseksi, että se näytti hienosti saavutettavalta. Mutta todellisuudessa se ei todellakaan ole sitä!

Kaarina and my mother went for shopping in Sello. My father fetched me. Then we would meet there and go for some eating.

On way there my father got something from drugstore. This looks like very nicely accessible for wheelchair. But reality is completely different thing: this place is totally inaccessible.

Torilla oli kaikenlaisia ihmeitä tarjolla. Siis ilmeisesti tori.aika oli jo päättynyt kauan sitten. Mutta kun myytävää on vielä vaikka kuinka paljon. Ja kun kama happanee muuten käsiin.

There's a small market-place. And that's very important thing: we have lots of stuff now. The typical market-time had gone. But there were quite lot of things to sell.

Nämä ovat muuten saksalaisia. Mutta kasvinjalostuksen avulla oli saatu aikaiseksi oikeastaan ihan täkäläistä vasdtaava maku! These strawberries came from Germany. Typically strawberries are better if one goes to North. They really like long day. But there has been quite much quality improvement in German ones: they taste as good as Finnish ones. So, why would anyone buy stuff from here?

Okei, vatut ovat kyllä täältä. Yleensäottaen marjat taitavat olla aika tyypillisiä meille. Mutta kirsikat eivät tosiaankaan! Berries are really quite important thing here. Though those cherries are from Germany. But these raspberries are from here. Garden-variety, though. We have a lot of "wild" berries, too. Like just these live in wild, too. Then they are smaller. Especially when we have very dry summer. Very bad thing for berries, because they have so much water in them.

Tietenkin juurekset saattavat vaikuttaa tylsiltä. Mutta esimerkiksi tuopreet porkkanat ovat todellakin ihania! Root crops? Are they so important? Yes, they are! Like these carrots. Those are really delicious. Of course they are extremely healthy things, too. But I eat them , and they taste good. And they do!

Tietenkin potut saattavat vaikuttaa tylsiltä. Mutta kyllä uudet perunat ovat lyömättömän ihania herkkuja. Then new potatoes. Of course they aren't suitable for quite many types of food-making. But they are really big delicacy just themselves!

Syönnin jälkeen palasimme asunnolleni. No joo, siellä taisi olla senverran hirvittävä hävityksenkauhistus...

Then we went to my place. But then my place has really awful mess!
