2005Ilseasiassa eräs ihminen Singaporesta ihaili vuodenaikojamme. Siellä kun niitä ei juurikaan ole. Tässä on muuten kävelytie.
One e-pal of mine was really thrilled about our seasons. Because we really have four of those. In Singapore, there's only one: hot and humid.

Koivunlehdet ovat oikeastaan oleellinen asia.
We call these really small leaves as "mouse ears". And these are really quite small, something like quarter of inch. But they grow up really rapidly.
One artist said, that just this green looks great. Greenness of "big" leaves isn't nice anymore.
Havupuut eivät
"lehtiään" tiputa. Niin, paitsi tosin joissain
osissa Saksaa...
These coniferous trees are green all year around. This specimen
comes originally from Balkan. But we have own very important ones.

As You can see, these leaves aren't very big yet! But eventually
they will be!
Tänään lähdin taas liikkeellä sähkäsilläni. Aluksi (siis eilen) se oli tuntunut todellakin kummalliselta. Selkänoja oli mielestäni vinsottanut vaikka miten. Mutta ilmeisesti asia ei ollut niin! Kaikki oli vain tottumisesta kiinni.
Now winter is definitely gone:I started to use my electric wheelchair. That felt really bad at first. But the problem was, that I wasn't so used to it.

Here lives professor Iiro Hartimo. He taught to me actually one course in basic level, several in advanced stage.
I took a picture earlier of this house. But then leaves were rather big ones: no possibility to see the actual house.
Now one sees it much better: real candy-house! It was moved
from Carelia earlier, near year 1920 or so.

koivunlendet ovat ihania! Elikkä uusi kuva näistä
ihanuuksista.
Vaikkakin ne ovat kaikkea muuta kuin ihania voimakkaasti allergisille ihmisille!
I must admit, that I took a picture of these just yesterday. But these fresh leaves are just so beautiful.
This time of year has huge problems, too. For persons, that have allergy. Actually nearly any allergy!
These have "flowers" now. They are wind-pollinated.
That stuff everywhere!

Mutta eipä ongelmia, siellä oli kyllä keinuja.
My father and my nephew Pauli were waiting. I took photos of professor Hartimo's house.
But no problems. My yard contains swings and such stuff
for kids.

idiots (You know, I have two). They have just no fear of

Aika kamalan
näköinen rytö! Mutta kuukauden kuluttus tässä
on juhannusruusu.
This look really awful now. But after a bit over month, there's really glorious rose. Roses actually seem to need a cold "period".
Usually this is really hard job, because this country is
really "too" cold. This rose is used to our climate.

on tie pois asunnoltani. Pikkuisessa kuvassa on tilanne Wappuaattona.
Oikeastaan eniten näkyvissä on havupuita. Mutta silti
vihreän yleissävy on toinen. Esimerkiksi nurmikko
on muuttunut harmaasta ja kuolleesta.
This smaller picture was taken at Eve of Wappu. Okay, I
can agree, that changes aren't so great. Because these trees are
coniferous ones. The main thing is change of shade! Look
at the grass. Only quite small time.
Onnistuin
ilmeisesti polttamaan päälakeni... Kun en ollut suojmannut
sitä. Toisaalta tuo pään ympäri menevä
panta tekee asian äärimmäisen hankalaa.
I burned my scalp. Same thing happens every year. But then
this head-thing makes shading really quite complicated.
Kuulemmä nämä
oli keltavuokkoja (anemone ranunculoides). Ymmätääkseni
keltavuokot ovat oikeastaan valkovuokkojen muunnos. Ja luonnonvaraisia.
Aika harvinaisia silloin tosin. Tai oikeammin ne ovat erittäin
voimaakkasti paikallisia: siellä missä niitä on,
niitä on paljon!
This is yellow anemone (anemone ranunculoides). This is
our garden here. But it can be wild, too. But then it's rather
rare. Or actually they are in populations. And if one finds such
a population, then there are huge number of flowers.
