Ari here

Ari Mujunen does all updating of my computers. Especially Linux-ones. I can manage with the Mac, it's so easy!

This is story of Sunday May 7th, 2000.

First he naturally arrived. And naturally Ökö welcomed him. Ökö was really certain, that the bag contained something interesting.

Then some food. In this case pizza.

Then microphone. Ökö has destroyed it...

No luck this time!

Then main thing: the computers. Ari does wonderful things just like that. Impossibilities take a little (and that isn't long time) bit more time.

Ari here January 17th. 2002

There has been really awfully long time from my previous report.

First the doorbell rings. Naturally so.both cats run to door. Helmi wants some (preferably more than that) food. Ökö wants to play. She wants someone to rub her belly!

That would be a real misery for burglars! Because Ökö wants to be with them.

Ari have brought some food with him. Now he puts those into fridge.

Mineral water! Flavored with lime, I think. But normally we (at least I) drink Coke Light. Actually much too much!

Ari installed the microphone to hihhuli. That's really quite awful place: dark (the camera flash gave it some light) and full of cat-hair (and naturally Ari is allergic to it).

And now for the real fun: telling the computer to do things.

We tried one kind of web-phone. Only phone, no pictures. The biggest problem seems to be the awful delay.

My new web cam

In Autumn 2002 I wanted to install a new web cam (okay, that's actually not a web cam, because picture rate is one per minute). I started the thing in September (now it's October).

Today I have two web cams:

Third (this new) will look my living-room.

Monday September 23th, 2002.

This new can requires a new USB hub. The thing is delivered (very rapidly) to the local post office.

On Mondays I visit Otanieni for my swim. This swimming hall is intended for "special groups". That's the nice way to say handicapped.

But actually there isn't any toilets accessible with wheelchair!

When swimming, my father noticed some nail-scratches in my knee. Those are by Ökö; she wants to come into my lap. And then I should rub her belly. Anyway, my father ordered clipping for such nails.

Then back home. Ari Mujunen is with us now.

Here's the actual camera. There comes awful amounts of pseudo-useful stuff: very nice-looking things, that have no real reason of existing. You have those things in Yours garage or under bed. Or somewhere...

Here's hub and extension chord. That hub has four really bright blue LEDs. Blue LED was really something miraculous, when I started my studies. Obviously not not anymore!

Then again at Friday. September 27th. Now the main problems were with my digital camera.

Okay, my Mac can handle those pictures? Yes. But it is 20 times slower. That's not very good thing!

Then comes Monday, September 30th. Digital camera is attached to USB. And it's really fast! And it can handle video-films (1 961 334 bytes), too.

But problems with web cam, they continue...

Thursday October 3rd, 2002. Today Ari came again to make miracles with my computers. This time we had to put two web cams to one USB. Usually web cam takes whole USB (and that isn't enough for high data rates). But I don't want high rate!

Ari made some serious mutilations to the code. And very successfully! Look.

So, we were rather happy. To celebrate the thing, we had tea and really many very special types of cheese...

I bought my new digital camera (Canon PowerShot Pro1) August 19th, 2004. There should be some method to downloading pictures from it. Surely Ari can do it!

And surely he did it! Actually he invented two methods to do it!

The big problem are "red eyes". Usually that's handled by making several small flashes, before the big one. We call it as disco-light. And really hate it!

This camera uses just one (quite small) lamp. And flashes it only once.

And You can see it's effective: no red eyes.

Ökö had destroyed my TV chair. But this one seems to be really quite nice thing.

When I write this WWW-page, she is sleeping there. In very deep vegetative state...

And now there's Helmi!

Then there's a WWW-page from Autumn 2008.
